Bufumbo Organic Farmers Association is a membership organization founded in2007 as a Community Based Organization. It currently employs 15 full time and 52 part time staff. The association produces, collects, processes, markets and sale of quality Organic and Fairtrade certified washed Arabica coffees grown on the slopes of Mt. Elgon.

Bufumbo Organic Farmers Association was established in 1997 by about 7 members, and registered as a community based organisation. In 2007, it was registered with Uganda registration Services Bureau as a company limited by guarantee with no specific share holder.
Today the association has over 1000, smallholder member farmers, employs 16 fulltime and 52 part time staff. The association plans to transform into a cooperative in the near future and widen its membership to about 2000 member farmers. This growth in membership will greatly upscale the production capacity of the organisation making it one of the biggest coffee farmers owned cooperative in the region.
